Certainly health care is an issue of great concern but is this really the answer?
Vice President Cheney praised the new approach during a speech to the American Enterprise Institute. "I think it's a good solution all the way around. Medicare and Social Security expenses are rising through the roof. At the same time, many hunters are running out of game because of rampant logging and over-development. I know, because I was behind opening public lands to such development. The truth is that many folks lack the opportunity that I did to bravely hunt down dangerous quail from a car.

Actually shooting the elderly is probably far less of a convoluted idea than most of Bush's solutions to many of our other problems, no? :-)

Dick Cheneys already got some experience with this, a couple of beers and let him go for it! What might be a better use of them (especially the Republicans) is free airfare to Iraq. There the troops could use them as decoys to draw fire from snipers to pinpoint sniper nests. Then afterwards they could be shipped back to the states to be processed as pet-food ala "Soylent Green", maybe Soylent Greenies? Tastier and healthier than BGH injected and Mad Cow infected beef!!

It should start with the elderly who have the funds to pay for Human growth Hormone and Steroids. They are trying to "stay" young by buying youth. I would gladly have a Gun Lobby out there, chewing gum or tobacco roaming the streets for the elderly too vain to grow old. Shoot them first and then we can get on with the pass on of resources to the younger ones. The poor are going to die earlier than the rich anyway.
The lust for youth in the wealthy elderly is a very big problem that will arise as a degradation of resources. The elderly wanting to become "immortal" is a great strain on the Planet's resources. It is far more noble and beneficial for the planet to accept that we get old, we die. Hunt down the "immortals", there can be only none.

But what will happen to the cottage industries ripping off the old to make a living.
Electrolux, miracle ear, credit card companies, scotters,meals on wheels, senior centers and such.
They depend on the old for their steady supply of unearned income.
What a great country. You can set up your own insurance company, bill people and not pay their claims. Legalized murder to save money must be just around the corner. Why not profit before people always.

My Mother has made it to 92 years. She was developing gall stones in her 50's and they put her on blood pressure medicine that hid the problem. At 81yrs they removed 67 stones. The doctor that did the operation closed her up and didn't mention the cancer in her lower intestines. We ended up getting that taken care of and she no longer takes blood pressure medicine. This article on shooting old folk is not far from the truth. Medicare will pay for harmful meds and half way operations so the doctors, pharmaceuticals and med industry can keep going. You have to have sick people to stay afloat. Social security, Welfare and food stamps are being given to the illegal aliens so I guess shooting our parents is a quicker death. Very good find!

Uh, why don't they just outsource them to India? That's what Dell and many major American corporations have done for their help lines. They could send them there and give them one tenth of the SSI and social security they now "have" to have to survive. If they complain, they can put them on an Indian 800 help line with a customer service rep that only speaks with an unintelligible accent in broken english no one can understand. And, if they're really good (and we KNOW they are), they can concoct 9 levels of telephone menus and if any wrong button is pushed, the line can go dead immediately! Corporate US has had this answer to those stupid warranty and rebate programs for years, what has taken this administration so long to catch on? An outsourced 'help' program for the elderly is the only answer! You don't need to shoot them--just outsource them! then you can easily forget them

TotheMoon We manage to stop them from killing her. She has lived through a lot and I'm thankful for every moment. Every pension she ever work for was always strip away from her. She never went for food stamps even when she finally qualified. They try to take the very little social security she receives and medical help too. She did with out glasses, without dental help and food at times. She is a survivor. This country doesn't appreciate the elderly like it should. Let alone the working Americans. In my life time I have not found an American that will not work for pennies, You work are you starve.
