I think it's despicable that Melena Butkis would take the food out of those children mouths. Now where will they find a dog to eat since every dog adoption agency has been put on alert?

The problem with this kind of satire is that this story shows up on web searches just like real stories. It's not hard to imagine somebody mistaking it for a real story. I've already heard that the people who reclaimed the dog were getting death threats. You could be making a bad situation worse.

Guess I'd say it's humorous but the situation is too easy to make fun of and too close to reality to really be funny, especially for people who love and respect animals. However, Ellen needs to be reminded that her show is to "simply" entertain and not make a political statement to pressure people. Celebrities, including professional athletes get "too big" and "too loud" for their own brains! In that respect I liked it. Hope she read it.

If only the truth was told in this dog deal.
Item 1) The dog was not euphonized.
Item 2) The dog is with another family.
Item 3) The family that received the dog from Ellen refused to apply for the dog. If they would have they could have had the dog if qualified.
Item 4) Ellen's attorneys threatened the adoption agency at Ellen's request.
Item 5) Ellen's display on TV was all acting and no feeling.

Confidentially, How, you omitted some more items.
Item 6)Mutts & Moms only allowed Ellen to adopt a dog as a means of acquiring free publicity for their services.
Item 7)The only reason the adoption agency is making so much flak about this is due to the fact they 'lost face' when Ellen gave the dog to her Hairdresser after she couldn't take care of it.
Item 8)Secretly Ellen DID take Iggy back to Mutts & Moms first, but they told her she couldn't due to her CONTRACT.
Item 9)Real joke is when you start treating pets like property than creatures.
Item 10)Mutts & Moms did have a right to take the dog back, but I feel they were really being spiteful and hiding behind their rules and policies for justifying their behavour.
'Nuff said.

I subscribe to a pretty sick & twisted sense of humour. I once made a joke on here (albeit an inside joke) about pretending to chop my dog's head off and holy crap ... did I ever take some serious heat!
I actually got kinda shook up at first because I didn't notice this was posted under humour, but I got over it quick enough when I saw who it was from.

Maybe we should put more humans out of their misery. I will start with the author of this article who thought it was funny and those who read it and thought it was true. I have been trained in venapuncture so the author will only feel a little prick but one little prick deserves another.

to all those offended by this really funny story - imagine if she had Rush Limburber calling Ellen a phoney dog lover, had Burtkis wearing a veil, & had Barny Frank making a speech about it in the Congress - then everyone could equally cry crocodile tears of being offended-

I had to check twice to make sure this was humor--after the nitwits took the dog from the kids and gave it to someone else. They are the ones that should be euthanized!
