Professor Henry Brubaker, of the Institute for Studies, said: "At first we were baffled as to why all these people's houses had got so wet, so quickly, and all at the same time.

The Insitute For Knowing Things, in a parallel study, has concluded that getting spit on makes one wet. They have proposed an alternate theory of Summer flooding revolving around huge underground reservoirs of dinosaur drool that regularly boil to the surface during hot weather.

Not so fast with the water-flooding connection ind06. I happen to know someone who knows someone who knows an unemployed programmer/virus writer/water expert from a former soviet block country, and he says this is completely false.

Given the counter claim, how can I trust this article? Still the evidence of a connection between excess water and flooding is pretty compelling, although it could be coincidental. :)

There are, of course a number of sites dedicated to the denunciation of the water causes flooding myth. I apologize for not presenting both sides of this controversy.

I didn't know that water came out of the sky.

I grew up in southern California, and the water always came out of the ground.

Good point. They also make no mention of any studies on dry flooding.

        Thanks for explaining that one.

Now if someone could just explain that yellow thingy in the sky when it's not raining.

I don't see it when all those other things are in the sky and it's hard to see. LOL

        Good one ind06

Flooding caused by water? Huh, who'd have thunk it. Thanks, ind, useful information for someone like me to have, me and all the rest of us that live near this huge puddle that we call Lake Michigan here

Now folks, I hate to bring this up, but I read somewhere that hurricanes and tsunamis are caused by excessive water being in the oceans and being pushed onto land. That too could cause flooding, but more research is needed. To conduct my research, I think perhaps I should immediately relocate my studies from inland Pennsylvania to Aruba or the Bahamas. I had thought about moving to Kansas, but I am not studying swirling wind storms that may or may not cause tornadoes.
