david nwpa:
I hear jokes about old people all the time.
You know even at work I get kidded about it. I don't take offense to those just kiddng around.
To me it is just a way of joking with me and those who are older.
Now if someone wants to really attack me in a way that is detrimental to my well being.
Well they find out this old guy is still pretty sharp and will stand up for himself.
There was no offense meant.

Sorry ind,
I don't think this one is in good taste. Would you run a story about isolating the gene that is responsible for African-Americans and have the scientist say, "I had suspected that gene was colored for a long time now..."?
I love a good joke, but this is hurtful to those who must live in an intolerant world that continuously labels gay people as "queer", or as deformities of nature.
I expect better from you , ind. Am I wrong to?

I'm sorry this was offensive to some of the posters above but if the word black was put in there I would have thought it was funny too. Some times you have to laugh at stereo types to show people how silly they are. That is what comedies do all the time.

Lighten up people, it's all done in the spirit of humor. I notice nothing is sacred or spared in "National Lampoon", or "Saturday Night Live" for instance. Yet they are spared cursory rushes to judgement, and the humor is appreciated.
Take it in the same stride.
If we can't laugh at ourselves every now and then, then we're in sad shape as a society.
Indy you rock! It's disconcerting to me that fellow members who claim that they know you for a long spell as I do, would think that you are insentient, and callous to which I know that you're not at all.

"It's a good thing we isolated it; I wouldn't want that faggot-ass gene messing with the straight ones."
The line speaks for itself. This is precisely the kind of joke that people allow and continue to laugh about. I just do not find it funny. Not enough to do more than discuss the content. We have done that now.

Well, progress has been made. The epdemic can be contained.
Next--and much more importantly--we'll genetically understand why the consumer confidence indexes have been at their lowest in over 20 years under Daddy and then Baby Bush (02/1992 & today). This could be a major development in defective gene research, for sure!!

Sounds like that gene must also have something to do with determining the thickness of ones skin too.
